Sony Ericsson has a nice software "Bluetooth remote control tool" to create remote control profiles.

Even though its very slow this tool can be run under linux using wine.

Once sent to the mobile phone the created HID profiles can be used to remote control any linux application. I will come up with a collection of profiles for some of the apps I use, e.g. tvtime, rhythmbox, xbmc.
